Huis Marseille was founded in 1999 as Amsterdam’s first-ever museum for photography. Every season, a new succession of three-month exhibitions cast an ever-changing light on the versatile medium of photography. In an age increasingly dominated by visual culture and the ubiquitous camera, Huis Marseille gives special attention to the photographic image itself: it asks us not just to see, but to look closely.
Huis Marseille offers a lively programme of activities for young and old, with an emphasis on interaction and hands-on experience. There are activities and special projects for everyone: schools, groups, and individual visitors.
Information on these activities can be requested using the form provided by the event, workshop or guided tour concerned. If you have any special requirements, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
A reservation may be cancelled or altered up to 5 working days before your planned visit to Huis Marseille, at no charge. Reservations cancelled later than this are, however, subject to payment in full.
Huis Marseille regularly organizes all kinds of activities to enrich your visit to the museum: from guided tours to lectures and master classes given by nationally and internationally acclaimed photographers. For the current agenda and the latest news, follow our agenda and newsletter (sign-up at the top of the page).
Huis Marseille offers a variety of arrangements to expand on your planned museum activity. For instance, your group might also enjoy making use of our historic canal-side patrician house, and – weather permitting – its classical garden. More information can be found here.
